Professor Yang Chao, birthed in 1966, received his Ph.D. in Flight dynamics from Beijing University of Aeronatics and Astronatics (BUAA) , Beijing, China R.P. in 1996. He is currently the president of School of Aeronautics Science and Technology of BUAA, and director of the Aeroelasticity Research lab of BUAA.
His main research field is in aeroelasticity, flight dynamics, and flight vehicle design, including fixed-wing aircraft, missile and helicopter. Now, his researches include the theory, calculation method, test method and technology about flutter, flight load, aseroservoelasticity, flight dynamics, active aeroelastic wing, aeroelastic tailoring design, active control technology, etc.. He took charge many scientific research items of the New-Century Training Program Foundation for the Talents by Ministry of Education of China, the National Natural Science Foundation of China Gereral Program, Doctoral Fund of Ministry of Education of China, etc.. His research in aeroelastic and helicopter flight dynamics got four award of science and technology advancement in national ministry. He is vice chairman of the Chinesel Committee of Aeroelasticity, the senior fellow of Chinese Society of Aeronatics and Astronatics.
